NCS Product Synopsis
Update:
June 23, 2009

«©NCSX»
Hori's new BlazBlue Fighting Stick for the Playstation 3 arrived this morning and preorders for just the stick by itself will ship today. If you also preordered the BlazBlue game, we'll hold your order so that the stick and software can ship together on Thursday. The packaging is fairly elaborate because of a interior box that's included which holds some extras as described below.

The joystick is based on the Real Arcade Pro 3 hardware
with eight standard buttons (face and trigger) arrayed across the right side of the stick and the START and SELECT buttons located on the upper right corner. The panel located on the upper left features a slide lever which switches the joystick from D-pad, L-analog, or R-analog control and four buttons as follows: Turbo, Home, L3, and R3. The BlazBlue stick connects to the PS3 by way of USB cable and the analog thumbsticks on the SixAxis controller may be emulated by pressing the L3 or R3 buttons.

Some extras are also included inside the packaging along with the stick: A BlazBlue operation sheet and two large sheets of decals featuring BlazBlue characters (full figure as well as button portraits) which are packaged inside a flat cardboard box that's inserted inside the overall box.

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Hori releases a BlazBlue themed Hori Real Arcade Pro Joystick to coincide with the debut of Arc System's BlazBlue game. A note from our vendor indicates that the PS3 stick is an update of the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 but we're not sure what that means exactly. The form factor looks like an HRAP3 but we'll update again once we have more information. Both joysticks will feature BlazBlue artwork on top of the controller and will feature a standard button layout as follows:

» PS3 button configuration - 2 rows of 4 buttons each
» 360 button configuration - 2 rows of 3 buttons each

The arcade version of BlazBlue (TTX² Viewlix cab) features a 7-button array but the game only uses the first three buttons on the top row for attacks and the first button on the bottom row is for the "Drive" attack. We're assuming the default button configuration will be the same for the home conversion of the game but the buttons will likely be customizable. Preorders for both versions of the joystick are welcome to ship on June 25, 2009 at JPY9334 (US$139.90) for the Playstation 3 version and JPY7600 (US$99.90) for the Xbox 360 stick. Please note that NCS' pricing reflects overnight shipping costs for the joysticks from Japan.
