NCS Product Synopsis
Update: August 04, 2006

«©NCSX» Another member of the animal kingdom finds representation in Sega's Caltoy brand - turtles in plush form with bright colorful shells and simple faces that are reminiscent of a two-eyed potato. Measuring a mighty 43cm (16.92") and practically circular on top, the plushes are fairly large and sort of look like turtles. The rimmed shell that covers the creature's entire body is the giveaway along with the slowpoke demeanor...

Similar to the "fur" of the
Caltoy pig plush, each turtle is satiny smooth and soft to the touch. The texture of the shell feels like a sheet of velvet with fine tufts of plush material. Despite being so big, each plush is light enough to be lifted by a child or a munchkin without much strain or effort. Pricing is set at US$49 per turtle. Please choose the color of the turtle that suits your fancy from the dropdown menu.

Obligatory Anecdote
Turtles have a reputation for being slow but in our experience, they can run quickly or swim briskly when the occasion calls. For example, when turtles that are basking under a heat lamp are startled by a loud sound, they can hurtle themselves off an artificial log like green-shelled missiles. Turtles are also known for their longevity. We've had one turtle for over 20 years and it doesn't look a day over 19. It still swims up a storm and observes our daily operations from a distance like a hawk.
We also have a bunch of small turtles that were saved purchased from a brute street vendor for about $2 each. The turtles were about the size of a quarter coin when first got them but in the past few years, they've grown into the size of a man's hand. The largest turtles we have measure about 11" in length and weigh about 6 lbs each. We occasionally post photos of them in our daily website updates. They may look sorta clumsy but they're agile and have been known to eat more than their fair share of food.

Questions & Answers
» What does "A:14pcs," "B:14pcs," and "C:14pcs" refer to in the product photo?
Those are the factory case quantities for the turtles. For example, each factory case contains 14 pieces of each A, B, and C turtles. It does not refer to the quantity you will receive when you place an order for "1" turtle.

» I prefer the Pink Turtle over the other two turtles. Am I unique?
Our sales for the Caltoy turtles are pretty even across all three colors. So, you wouldn't be unique in that respect but you are probably unique in other ways.

» Should I buy a living pet turtle to go along with my Caltoy turtle?
Taking care of turtles requires diligence in keeping their living quarters clean and giving them a varied diet of greens, protein, and the occasional treat. Turtles also need a good amount of space to swim around in and bask atop dry surfaces to soak up the sun. If you're up to the challenge, you'll have a pet that'll grow old with you since turtles seem to live forever. One difference between you and a turtle however is a turtle doesn't look its age when it's elderly.
