«©NCSX» Omiya's popular card-battle board game reaches the Nintendo DS with an update that's is based on PS2 Culdcept 2: Expansion. Players control an adventurer who moves on squares and battles opponents with card-based attacks and magic. Healing, special abilities, and other effects are also handled through the issuance of cards. The NDS version features new cards designed by Satoshi Nakai for an assemblage of over 300 cards which are balanced against each other. Overly mighty cards have also been toned down to blunt their destructive potential, all in the name of level playing conditions. A handy compilation of game boards are included for play, including those from the Saturn original and levels designed by players of previous Culcept games. A MEDAL system allows players to collect ornate and detailed medals to include in a virtual collection. Finally, players may link up wirelessly to enjoy a competitive game of card battling action.

The game introduction features an English voice-over that goes like this:

We have a myth
One day, Culdcept was shattered into pieces
It had contained the principles for ruling the universe
Falling from the hands of the goddess, the shards of Culdcept became small cards and descended all over the continent of Bablashca
With Culdcept's enormous power, evil monsters emerged from the ground and magical spirits filled the atmosphere
Humans were also affected by its power
People with mysterious powers appeared in various places on the continent
They were known by later generations as Cepters
Cepters had the ability to release at will powers sealed in shards of Culdcept and they made a startling realization
Culdcept was the means to ruling the universe
The one who restored Culdcept to its original state would possess the power to create a new world and a new universe
He would be God

All of the voice over work in the game is in English but the text is in Japanese. After starting a new game, another intro playe with English voice-over
