Duodecim features more of the fighting/adventure type action from the first game and throws in nine new characters as follows: Kain Highwind (FFIV), Lightning (FFXIII), Vaan (FFXII), Laguna Loire (FFVIII), and Tifa Lockheart (FFVII), Gilgamesh (FFV), Yuna (FFX), Prish (FFXI), and Desperado Chaos (FFD). Duodecim also introduces the "Assist System" For fans of the canonical Final Fantasy games, Duodecim includes an RPG Mode where the player loses direct control of the hero and issues indirect commands instead.
