NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» F-Zero racing action returns to the GBA with a smooth and familiar looking twitch racer. Follow the adventures of one of eight possible racers (only one is selectable in the beginning) in Story Mode and challenge competitors in trial runs to move on to new challengers.
In the normal Racing Mode, players choose from Bronze Cup, Silver Cup or Gold Cup leagues and select from five racers at the outset of the game including Blue Falcon, Dragon Bird, Fire Stingray and Wild Goose. Five additional racers are in shadows but they may be unlocked after meeting certain requirements. A race takes 5 laps to complete and the track is lined with energy drainers and a few boosters such as a green "jump" tab and a yellow "speed-up" arrow which you'll want to pass over to get your game on. Bronze Cup is decidedly very easy but Gold Cup foists aggressive and savvy racers against players for more of a challenge. Stages in the game include such familiar names as Mute City, Red Canyon and others. Red Canyon features a tricky track where the road splits into two and gamers may opt to take either path but there are some areas where you might jump the track and plummet into oblivion. The camera will eventually pan around and show a plume of smoke depicting your demise while the defeating words of "You Lost" flash on screen.
Up to four players may link up with a single cartridge and compete in tournaments amongst themselves.
