«©NCSX» Originally released in 1990 for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, Square revamps Final Fantasy III with a 3D rendition. Returning to oversee the project is Hiromichi Tanaka who contributed to the design of the NES game along with Nobuo Uematsu who remakes the theme song with full bodied orchestral backup.
Square remade FFIII for the Nintendo DS and iPhone a few years ago and the version being ported over to the PSP is the iPhone rendition which features an auto-battles, an 8-bit BGM mode with bloops and beeps for the sound effects, and 16:9 screen compatibility. Although the visuals are 3D, the camera is fixed position and cannot be rotated around when traveling. A zoom feature is available however where players may focus in on the world if so desired and check out the surroundings closer.
