NCS Product Synopsis
Update: October 7, 2005
«©NCSX» Bandai hitches onto the Final Fantasy Advent Children merchandising blitz by releasing "FFVII Advent Children Swing Figures" which feature the main characters from the FFVII AC DVD with a little keychain loop attached to the top of their heads. The loop may also be hung on a nail and swung. Get it? Swing. Swung. Never mind... Each figure measures 7cm (2.75") tall and the five characters are as follows:
Good Guys
Cloud - The blonde with the big cutter
Tifa - Fists are up and the girl is ready to battle
Goons
Kadaj - Digs a sword into the ground
Yazoo - Hefts a pistol with his left hand
Loz - Aims a handcannon at someone in the distance
The manufacturing quality of each figure is excellent. To determine this ranking, we looked at the eyes, the paint, and the curvature of each figure.
Eyes
Peer into the pupils of Cloud or Tifa or the three hoodlums and notice their solid colors and general lack of pigment bleeding. The eyes are sharp and bright. Note that Kadaj and cohorts have green cat eyes and the little pupil slivers are painted on perfectly.
Paint
From the hair to the clothing to the boots, the colors don't run nor do they bleed into each other. There might be some tiny paint chip imperfections on some figures but this is likely the result of residue on the production mold. As if to show off their elite manufacturing skills, the boots on the boys are painted a glossy black while their leather duds are painted a matte black which aren't as shiny as their boots. The weapons have little markings on them to accentuate the level of detail.
Curvature
The faces and bodies of the figures are naturally rounded and curved like natural faces and bodies. There are no sharp edges from a rusty mold ruining the form of the characters. The hands and fingers on each figure are modeled and etched with careful detail. The clothing on each character also drapes in natural fashion and contains creases.
