NCS Product Synopsis
Update: January 26, 2006
«©NCSX» While on summer vacation, the protagonist of Fragments Blue receives a letter from a mysterious sender which prompts him to return to his hometown after leaving a few years ago. The letter contains a single sentence and appears to be from a friend who died from serious illness 2 years ago. To further the mystery, the envelope also contains a single gold-colored key. Who sent the letter and what does the key unlock? What potentially spooky adventures await at home? To answer these questions and more, take a train ride back home and interact with seven girls in the Fragments Blue world to solve the riddle of the letter. Along with the gals and the mystery, a cloaked stranger provides drama and intrigue.

NCS Game Notes
* In the intro to the game, a tender melody plays while various characters appear near a white fence. The scene shifts to a profile image of the protagonist who's wearing a cap imprinted with the word "Rude" and the various characters in the game appear in still images that fade in and out with close-ups and spin effects added to liven things up.

* Fragments Blue is best described as mystery adventure lite.

* The "EXTRA" selection on the title screen contains a large amount of visual album data and sound effects that have to be unlocked before they may be accessed.

* Upon starting the game, the background story is set-up while the protagonist is visiting a friend at the hospital. She's wearing a pink blouse and has her hair tied up in a braid thing that falls over her right shoulder.

Outside the window, the clouds move across the sky from left to right while a mountain and quaint town lie below. She'll do most of the talking, sneeze, and vocalize her thoughts while making a few facial transitions as allowed by the still frame artwork. Most of what she says in the dialogue screens is also spoken by a voice actress. Later, a paper airplane is thrown out the window and she exclaims in surprise when it drops down. A second plane that flies through the air appears to symbolize ascension of hope and spirit.

In the next scene, protagonist is on a train listening to a portable music player while the background scenery rolls across. .

* During the train ride, four synopses of the previous events that just happened may be viewed and reviewed to ensure that your understanding of the storyline is intact.

* Progress may be saved at any time by pressing the START button, pressing O at the first option, and then selecting the save slot. To load data from memory card at any time, press START, press O at the second option, and then selecting the data to load.

* The entire transcript of events that have already transpired may be view by pressing the TRIANGLE button. The most recent text is on the bottom and the L1 and L2 triggers may be pressed to scroll through the document quickly.
