The Great Roman Empire
In the greatest arena, Colosseum, the gladiator convention is being held by the command of the emperor every day. Those who participate in fighting are only humble persons. Gladiators struggle through the battle and risk their lives for their vanity and freedom.

A.D. 180. After Marcus Aurelius dies, and his real son, Commodus succeeds to the throne, the empire built by predecessors loses its prestige at a stretch. However, in A.D. 192, Commodus declares that he himseld is "the Incarnation of Hercules" and beins showing his madness by entering gladiator conventions as a fighter. His folly makes many people anxious about the nation's future. However, Commodus is determined that the fighting is all and asks for the challenge of stronger gladiators.

The tales of a gladiator who continues fighting only to be alive
The tale begins when a slave is forced to fight in the small local arena. The slave (main character) earns fame in the arena and is bought by a showman and taken to the city of prosperity, Rome, to fight as a gladiator. The strength of the hero who continues fighting to gain freedom catches aristocrats' eyes, and the stage of fighting moves into the symbol of imperial Roma, the greatest arena "Colosseum..."

While citizens are excited by the violent and desperate struggle performed in the Colosseum, the reverse-side of Rome is infested with aristocrats' intrigue and tricks. What is waiting for the gladiator, after surviving the battle in the end?
