NCS Product Synopsis
Update: November 21, 2008
«©NCSX» Mobile Suits from 16 properties including Gundam Seed and Gundam OO gather together in the latest PSP Gundam action game which features a Story Mode as well as a customizable Versus Mode where up to four players battle it out. Note that Bandai developed a new game engine for Gundam vs Gundam which is dissimilar from the engine used in the previous PSP Gundam games. It feels solid but we're still getting used to the new engine and control mechanics since the previous PSP Gundam play mechanics are ingrained at this point. Movement may be controlled by using either the d-pad or the analog stick but since dashing requires two quick tugs in a cardinal direction, the d-pad is preferable to analog.

Upon starting the game, a mecha roster appears and a total of 33 mechs and their attendant pilots may be chosen which are based on 16 Gundam animated serials. The cursor initially rests on Amuro Ray from the original Kidou Senshi Gundam and his trusty RX-78-2. Move the cursor to the right and you'll highly Char Aznable with his red MS-06C Zaku II. Further down, all of the other Gundam series featured in the game and their respective heroes and mechs may be chosen and their stories played. Players may select heroes such as Judo Ashita from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, Seabrook Arno who hails from Mobile Suit Gundam F91,
Loran Cehack from Turn A Gundam, and many more. Once the game starts, players are thrust into the thick of a battle where opposing mechs are already jetting around and firing beams any which way but loose.
Region-Free
Japanese PSP games may be played on North American and European PSP handhelds. There is no region-coding on PSP game UMDs.

NCS Game Notes

Controls
» Either the d-pad or analog thumbstick may be used to maneuver the mech. The button commands are:

Cross - Thrust upwards; Press and hold for sustained thrust
Circle - Target enemy; If jumping, pressing Circle will force the mech to drop Square - Fire primary weapon
Triangle - Sword slash

» Similar to other Gundam games, pushing the d-pad to the left or the right with two consecutive taps will make the mech dash in the same direction. Couple the dashing move with a thrust jump to maneuver around enemies and attack them like an avenging dervish.

» When an enemy mech is standing before your mech, double tapping left or right on the d-pad will send your mech dashing away from oncoming fire. When you're close enough, dashing to the side and then pressing the "Triangle" button for a sword slash will automatically close the distance between you and the mech so that an evasive melee attack is meted out.

Game Features
» 33 Gundam mechs run, jump. and thrust in various missions
» Four player ad hoc Versus Mode for a Gundam battle royale
» Use memory stick duo as a data buffer to improve loading times
