Three modes are available: Trial Mode, Championship Mode, and Excite Mode. The Trial Mode is a tutorial of sorts and starts players on the way to olympic gold. For example, figure skating plays similarly to Dance Dance Revolution where a series of arrows and "A" or "B" cues rush down the screen and one hits the cues accordingly to perform a spectacular routine for the crowd.
