NCS Product Synopsis
Update: November 15, 2004
«©NCSX» A would-be tyrant dubbed Dark Evil is intent on getting his grippy paws on the freedom loving locale known as Amazing Island. This aggression must not stand. To battle back the rising tide, players have been charged with the creation and development of a little creature who would become saviour.

Start the journey and questions are peppered at the player (in Japanese) - the answers affect the type of creature that you'll be presented with. Once the basic framework of the beast is apparent, a little creature editor pops into view where just about every facet of your beast may be molded, painted and pasted with a large assortment of eyes, body edits, arms and other appendages. The designers of Amazing Island may have been inspired by the incredible biodiversity seen in nature and have made sure that fiendishly outlandish beasts may be created in Amazing Island. Once crafted, your beast is shuffled into a series of mini-games to gain points to develop further and stake a claim at being the hero that saved Amazing Island.

Mini-games include batting a large ball back and forth against an opponent - missing the ball will cause the ledge that you're standing on to diminish in size. Another game includes running maniacally across the screen in a mad dash attempt to grab as many rings as possible. There's an homage to Ajax (Konami coin-op) as well where a winged beast takes to the air and shoots at ground targets in a top-down perspective of the action. None of the games are meant to tax cognitive skills but they're light-hearted fun that should please seekers of simple fun.
