 «©NCSX» The baseball season is well along this year on both sides of the Pacific. The NY Yankees are leading the American League East here in the States and the Yomiuri Giants are ruling the Central League standings over in Japan. In other baseball news, Konami releases another volume in what's probably the longest running baseball game series in the industry. Yep, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu or big-head-baseball has been around for nearly 20 years and NCS has watched it grow, develop, and get refined into a multi-console franchise that has endured the test of time.
 
    Starting this year, Konami's Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu game series graduates from the Playstation 2 to the Playstation 3. The PS2 had a great run but all console generations must die eventually and give way to new turks. The PS3 will serve as the default big-console-platform for future Pro Yakyu games.
 
    The 2010 edition of Jikkyou Powerful Pro for the PSP features all 12 Japanese professional teams and their respective stadiums in which they'll play. The usual game modes return including "Pennant Mode" where players reach for the post-season and "Versus" which places gamers in the collective shoes of a professional baseball team that plays against another professional club. The "Success Mode" of the game allows players to choose a pro team and enjoy a season-long baseball scenario that's unique for each squad. A card system that similar to the PoTaCa system featured in the Playstation Portable version of the game is utilized where trading cards are used to imbue baseball players with improved skills and abilities. The PS3 version supports online play as well as the ability to watch games in progress being played by other online gamers.

«©NCSX» Konami's renowned Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu series is graduating this year. Instead of making its annual appearance on the Playstation 2, the game moves onto the greener pastures of the Playstation 3. Evolutionary features include brighter and sharper graphics, an online mode for two players, and a new dynamic camera system that zooms in on exciting moments for extra visual sizzle. For example, if a runner is sliding into home plate just as the throw from the outfield reaches the catcher, the camera pans in for a close view of the play.

   True to previous volumes in the Powerful Pro series, all 12 professional Japanese teams are in attendance along with their stadiums, updated annual statistics, and a number of game modes to explore. For gamers who just enjoy watching baseball being played, an online mode allows the viewing of games between other players across Japan.
