«©NCSX» On March 17, 1959, a manga magazine called Weekly Shônen Sunday made its debut but on that same day, Weekly Shônen Magazine also launched. For 50 years, the two magazines have thrilled the youth and adults of Japan with stories featuring characters such as Ippo Makunouchi, Joe Yabuki, Devil Man, Inuyasha, Neji Springfield, Ayasaki Hayate, and many more. To mark their respective 50th anniversaries, the Shonen publications have been blitzing the Japanese market with merchandise and in the case of Sunday X Magazine, a 2D fighting game developed by Konami.
 
From Shonen Sunday, some of the manga series' featured are:

The format is 2D fighting where combatants punch, kick, block, and perform special attacks every now and then. The fighter select screen features the cast of characters in a 5 x 6 array and players may select from numerous stages to fight upon.
