«©NCSX» Originally released on the Gameboy Advance many moons ago (September 21, 2001 to be exact), Super Robot Wars A gets ported to the PSP with updated visuals, voice acting, and updated BGM and SE.

At the outset of the game, players may choose either Axel or Lamia as the protagonist and then select either a Super Robot or a Real Robot. The first battle takes place on a sparse city map where the player's team faces off against a contingent of enemies led by Falguen MAFFU which appear to the north. When things begin to look grim in the battle, reinforcements in the form of an RX-78-2, Argama, and Taurus will arrive in the nick of time to help your squad out.

The controls hew close to classic Super Robot Wars convention where movement and attacks are selected from a menu. Players move a team of robots on the battlefield and attack enemy robots in one-on-one sequences where each strike is shown in full animated detail. When being attacked, you can choose to counterattack (1st choice), dodge attack (2nd choice), or guard against attack (3rd choice). Only the d-pad is used for control. The analog nub operates the camera zoom. To switch over to the next mech quickly during your movement phase, press the R-Trigger.
