«©NCSX» Former Brazilian soccer star Zico (Artur Antunes Coimbra) acts as front man for Konami's seventh stride with the Winning Eleven Series. The 1982 World Cup hero was voted South American Player of the Year in 1977, 1981 and 1982 and has been involved with the J-League since its birthing in 1993. Zico also happens to be Japan's national coach so it's a natural fit...
Konami touts a new level of challenge in the game where the computer studies the player's attack and defense style and adjusts accordingly to counter it. 50 national teams and 64 team clubs are in force including the South Korean Soccer Society with all professional players represented. Player animations are also fine-tuned to perfection with lifelike movements evident for every move, pass and kick. For example, when a kicker passes to a player who is running in the direction opposite to where the ball is going, the receiver's center of gravity will shift forward, causing him to fall over due to the awkwardness of the moment.
New inductees into the Winning Eleven fold may investigate the Tutorial Mode first to get pointers on gameplay, ball handling and basic play mechanics.
