NCS Product Synopsis
Update: September 25, 2008
«©NCSX» Hearken back to the era of the 80s when Yakuza dressed like Crockett & Tubbs and heroes roamed the streets to beat them down. In Success' side scrolling beat 'em up, players take on the role of an avenger who uses punches, kicks, and special attacks to quell the gangland threat.

Three heroes are featured in the game - a hipster policeman in a white suit, a stodgy middle-age detective who wears a trench coat, and a spry female cop who wears short shorts and packs firearms. Assorted guns may be picked up on the street to provide hard hitting power against groups of enemy troops and to take them down quickly. Bonuses scattered along the levels include big bulging hamburgers and triangle-cut sandwiches which recover life energy.

The game plays similarly to 2D walk and punch classics such as Final Fight and fans of that earlier game will experience deja vu when going through the city stages.

NCS Game Notes
» The game starts with the wailing of a police siren as the white-suited protagonist motors down the street and screeches to a stop in front of Shibuya 108. Talk to your partner in order to advance. Beat down a few thugs and she'll appear again in front of two firearms which may be picked up and added to your arsenal.

» Short interactive sequences break up the action which tell a little story about organized crime in the big city.

» To perform a running dash attack, push the d-pad to the left or right twice in quick succession and press the "Y" button. The move is powerful enough to barrel down most opponents.

» Movement around town is handled by choosing locations on a city map. It's not all about fighting in every location however. There are places to visit such as the mall where clues may be gathered from the folks milling about inside.

» Similar to Final Fight, one single punch can affect multiple enemies at one time.

» In the second stage, a car accident causes a traffic jam on the highway but doesn't really lead to the next encounter. Think of it as a bit of realism in the life of a police officer.

» Yajuu Keiji is a side scrolling beat 'em up but there's also a bit of lateral movement available where the protagonists can move into the background and then move back into the foreground.

» The controls are:
Y-Button - Punch (Press in sequence for combo punches)
X-Button - Kick (Press in sequence for combo kicks)
B-Button - Jump
A-Button - Pick Up Object
L+X/Y - Fire Weapon
R+X - Spinning Kick
R+Y - Energy Burst
