In Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, players will battle fierce zombies as Yaiba, a cyborg ninja who will do anything to get revenge and stay alive. Cleaved in two, he is brought back to life with cyber-technology. Brandishing his ninja sword and the mecha weapons in his cyborg arm, he slaughters zombies with brutal, over-the-top abandon. Step into a stylized living comic book where stunning graphics depict a world gone mad. Hordes of undead can only be stopped by Yaiba's willingness to use any means necessary to get the job done. Will he kill by turning his cyborg arm into a razor chainsaw for slicing up undead - or just rip off an opponent's arms to use as zombie nunchucks? - Yaiba - Unappreciated and undervalued by his clan, Yaiba broke the shackles of ninja tradition and decided to carve his own path... right through the flesh of his former compatriots. Yaiba may have lost his arm, his eye, and his life in the process, but he'll never be able to take away his insatiable lust for revenge against the so-called "ultimate ninja" by Ryu Hayabusa.
- Miss Monday - Miss Monday is the buxom brainy beauty responsible for keeping Yaiba's ego in check and maintaining his cybernetic components. She does her best to keep Yaiba on the right track during missions using all kinds of sophisticated gadgetry while staying safely out of harms way.
- Ryu Hayabusa - Bearer of the legendary Dragon Sword, the ninja known as Ryu Hayabusa has saved the world countless times from dark and mysterious forces. He's now taken it upon himself to find the source of the mysterious zombie plague sweeping the world, unaware that Yaiba is still alive and hunting him down.
- The Infected - Society truly stinks, but the viral outbreak has spawned a populous that's undeniably repugnant. These horrible bodies of rotting flesh are strong and fast, but also very, very stupid.
- Electric Infected - While most infected are compostable, these modified infected produce an ample amount of electricity on their own, making them energy efficient! Apparently someone out there felt the infected needed to be more energetic, and shocking. Mission accomplished.
- Burning Infected - How these infected keep their trim figure and hideous glow is a mystery that doesn't require an up close and personal investigation. Unless you want to be on the BBQ menu, avoid these ever-burning, charbroiled infected.
- Toxic Infected - Proving that HAZMAT suits can't protect against a good set of teeth, these green-colored infected brought along a host of toxic chemicals to compliment all that rotting flesh - a combination that looks horrid and extremely corrosive.
- The Heretic - Usually when a preacher tells you that you're going to burn in the fiery pits with Satan, he doesn't have his own fire and brimstone to back him up! Unless you're praying for a quick death, stay away from this unholy creature.
- The Brawler - Local celebrity, world famous ex-boxer, and MMA fighter, Vseslav Degtyarev couldn't revive his career from the dead, but it looks like he won't let the fact that he is rotting keep him from punching his way to the top of the food chain.
- The Terrible Two - The result of an experiment gone horribly wrong, this two-headed monster is as big and destructive as a tank. The creature has an insatiable appetite for human flesh, and throws a furious temper tantrum if it doesn't get fed. Run and hide as long as you can, or until there are no more places to hide.
